I am also a 33° Degree Prince Hall Mason and a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. I am also a founding member of the Southwest Tennessee Landowners Organization. This organization focuses on the interests and opportunities for minority landowners in Hardeman and surrounding counties. I am also a life member of the NAACP and the Tennessee State University National Alumni Association.

In my professional and vocational endeavors, I have received numerous awards and recognitions. To list a few, in 2010 I received the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the ARC of the Mid-South at its fifteenth Annual Benefit Gala. In 2013, I was awarded the Pillow Lee Award by the St. John’s Community Services Organization. In February 2017 I was honored as a Living Legend by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology of Whiteville, Tennessee.

On May 27, 2018, at the fifty-fifth Annual Freedom Fund Banquet of the Jackson-Madison County NAACP, I was recognized as a Legend and inducted into the NAACP Gallery of Legends. In 2018, I was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Tennessee Community Organizations (TNCO) at its annual conference. Also, in 2018 I was awarded the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by the Marquis Who’s Who Publication Board. On February 9, 2019, along with several others, I was recognized by the Hardeman County Commission for Black History as a Hardeman County History Maker and presented their North Star Award.
